Keep Your Stress in Check

How to keep your stress in check? Now…

keep your stress in checkI’m generally pretty balanced person, most of the time, I think. From time to time I get wound up, I may yell and scream, say few colorful words…. depending how pissed I am, they may go from English to Armenian (has more meaning).

Given our a month long lack-down, it’s been hard on all of us. I didn’t realize how stressed I was until last Tuesday when a friend posted on Facebook that a local nursing home needed help, needed food. I called them to ask what specifically they needed so I can pick up some food from the store and drop it off to them. This day and age in America we can’t have anyone going hungry. As the lady answers the phone, and I’m starting to speak, I start chocking and can’t keep my tears in check.

I’m generally not a person that cries easily. As I’m walking up and down the isles of the grocery store I can’t keep my tears from rolling down my face. I didn’t realize how this whole thing: being home for 4 weeks, not seeing my patients, not seeing family and friends has effected me.

And it’s not just me, we are all stressed, edgy….

We all have heard how stress effects your heart, blood pressure, immune system, etc. Not often you hear about stress effecting your blood sugar levels, cortisol, or your circadian rhythm, your bodies internal clock.

There are several things you can do to lower the stress level and help your body relax. You have heard over and over the benefits of meditation, yoga, doing something that calms you. Changing your state will help break the negative thought pattern.

And more then once I have wrote about the benefits of walking barefoot on a grass, dirt, earth, sand, at the beach. Several studies have shown that Earthing generates positive changes in the brain and musculature and on blood volume pulse. Also, grounding the human body during sleep reduces night-time levels of cortisol more in alignment with a natural 24-hour circadian rhythm. These changes reflect reduction of overall stress levels and greater shift in the nervous system.

This is a great time to order Earthing products. When you order a kit you’ll get a free Patch Kit, $90 value, while supplies last.
